Generation Equality Forum: an opportunity for governments, multilaterals, and civil society to advance Gender Equality and achieve the SDGs

The All-Party Parliamentary Group on Women, Peace and Security and the All-Parliamentary Group on the UN Global Goals for Sustainable Development are holding a special virtual event on Wednesday 9th June 02.15pm – 03.30pm (UK Time) to discuss the interconnectedness of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Women, Peace and Security (WPS) agenda.

The event will link the SDGs and the WPS agenda, with a specific focus on the Generation Equality Forum (GEF) which will culminate in Paris in June-July 2021. The event will be an opportunity to learn more about the GEF, its Action Coalitions and Compact which will be launched at the Forum, hear from a country examples, discuss intersecting issues such as how climate and economic factors impact on gender equality, and closely examine how multilaterals and Governments can work with civil society to achieve the SDGs and work on WPS.

The event will be in collaboration with Gender Action for Peace and Security (GAPS) which provides the secretariat for the APPG-WPS.

The event will be co-chaired by Baroness Hodgson of Abinger CBE, Co-Chair of the APPG on Women, Peace and Security and Theo Clarke MP, Chair of the APPG on the UN Global Goals for Sustainable Development
