About the APPG
The APPG on the United Nations Global Goals for Sustainable Development is co-chaired by Rt Hon Lord Jack McConnell and Jess Toale MP. The APPG believes that the SDGs agreed at the United Nations in September 2015 mark a major turning point in the global effort to end extreme poverty and inequality by 2030, and we work in Parliament to push the UK government to commit to the SDGs, at home and abroad.
The APPG has a membership of over 130 Parliamentarians from across the political spectrum, including over 50 Members of Parliament. A full membership list can be found here.
The APPG is supported by Bond, the international development network for UK NGOs working in the international development and humanitarian sector, who act as the Secretariat for the group. Bond also coordinates the Bond SDG Group - a group of international civil society organisations working together to advance the goals and to monitor and hold UK government to account for its SDG commitments. If you would like to know more about Bond’s work please don’t hesitate to contact us.
In addition to the co-chairs, the APPG is run by a committee of Vice-Chairs.
