What impact has Covid-19 had on progress towards the SDGs?

As the world gathers for the virtual UN General Assembly and the beginning of the ‘decade of action’, we are delighted to invite you to an event for the launch of our report on Covid-19 and the SDGs.

In 2015, 193 countries agreed to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, a shared agenda for social, environmental and economic progress. The 17 goals with its 169 targets apply universally, in all countries, and include an overarching commitment that no one should be left behind in their delivery.

The APPG has completed its first inquiry, addressing the UK’s progress on the SDGs in light of Covid-19, with contributions from over 50 organisations over the past three months. In this webinar, you will have an opportunity to hear the main findings of the report, including:

  • the impact that the pandemic has had on progress towards achieving the SDGs

  • how the SDGs provide an internationally agreed roadmap for recovery and what needs to happen next

The webinar is an opportunity to discuss the UK’s progress, bringing together parliamentarians, civil society and other stakeholders.

We will hear the reflections of three sector leaders before opening up to participants to ask questions.

Speakers

  • Andrew Griffiths, Head of Advocacy at Sightsavers & Bond SDG Group Co-Chair

  • Alice MacDonald, Campaigns Director at Project Everyone
